Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationJens Pietzsch received both his PhD/MD degree in pathological biochemistry and internal medicine, and his postdoctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) in pathological biochemistry and clinical metabolic research from the University of Technology Dresden (TUD). He is awarded an expert biochemist for toxicology from the University of Leipzig. For many years he was the head of the lipoprotein laboratory at the Institute of Clinical Metabolic Research at Carl Gustav Carus Medical School (TUD). Currently he is the head of the Department of Radiopharmaceutical Biology at the Institute of Radiopharmacy, Research Center Dresden-Rossendorf (Member of the Leibniz Association), Germany. Jens Pietzsch is senior lecturer (assistant professor) at the TUD. His research interests focus on pathological biochemistry in atherogenesis, inflammation, tumorigenesis, and metastasis. His specific expertise covers pathological biochemistry of prediabetic states. His specific methodological expertise covers radiopharmacology and multimodal molecular imaging, particularly, small animal positron emission tomography.
