Overview

After years of struggle and bloodshed, Marak is finally king. But his rise to power has only just begun. In the far south, amongst the mountains and snow, Iradan, the youngest Saint in the history of the Ascendancy, vows to take Marak's head and burn his kingdom to the ground. The coming war threatens to undo everything Marak has worked so hard to achieve. Marak will need to consolidate his power, put an end to a bloody rebellion, and forge new alliances with distant empires. But with enemies closing in from all sides, Marak finds himself in the middle of an entirely different war. One waged between gods. Contains mature themes.

Author Information

Alexander Layne is an Australian author of both horror and fantasy. Path of the Knight is the first book in the Dark Ascension series. He quite likes writing, and does a lot of it, so don't worry-you won't have to wait a year or more between books. Alexander is also the author of the Flayed Sun trilogy, starting with The Bone Spear. Jonathan Johns is something of a rarity, being a Cornish audiobook narrator. His unique voice, found within his Cornish heritage, goes a long way in bringing stories to life. Fully adept in character dialogue, voices, and narration, Jonathan has the ability to draw in the listener. Jonathan Johns is something of a rarity, being a Cornish audiobook narrator.
