OverviewA new reference monograph on an established artist. Pascal Dombis (1965) is a visual and digital artist. Relying mainly on print and video techniques, his work unfolds in a series of colourful works. Trained as an engineer, he creates by coding and using algorithms that he pushes to their limits by repeating them ad infinitum, generating unpredictability and a unique result every time. His use of lenticular sheets, a composite material equipped with optical lenses, enables him to work on perspective and multiply viewpoints. The instability of lenticular and its natural propensity to produce the accidental create an illusion of depth. The result is dynamic works that reveal multiple forms and colours, which do not stand still but are constantly regenerated.
