Overview

This book will increase curiosity for science among kids. After reading this, kids will be more inquisitive, ask more questions and won't stop searching the web for answers related to our reality! Questions like- Is gravity really an illusion? Are there no gravitational fields? For real? Also, they will learn that according to his relativity, magnetic fields can be completely discarded and it can be concluded that things are happening in the electric world only due to electric fields. There are, in fact, no magnetic fields. Or one can say that when seen from a different frame of reference, electric fields are nothing but magnetic fields. Why 5 minutes on a different planet might be equal to 1 year on Earth? Because like masses bend space, they bend time too. The more the gravitational field, the slower time will pass! Why? Inside powerful gravitational fields, clocks need to do more work... they do more work to complete one tick... Bizzare? Weird? Physics is weird. In science, the state of rest and the state of uniform motion is considered the same. Because for a person travelling with you at the same speed, you both are at rest in respect to each other. Also, if you are moving, and an object is at rest... You can tell that the object is moving with respect to you. Things like space and time are relative. They are as they are observed! The only constant in the universe is the speed of light. Things like black holes have an escape velocity higher than that of the speed of light. This is the reason why even light cannot pass its wrath. It gets sucked into the oblivion called singularity. Space and time are so much bent around and on and inside of black holes, that scientists cannot understand, let alone measure, any dimension of it. To have a rough idea, the diameter of a small black hole is guessed-measured to be 20-30 kilometres. But its circumference wouldn't be proportional. It ain't no normal circle. Its circumference would go on and on and on because space is warped, it's bent. The singularity or a black hole is a very very heavy and long dent in space-time fabric. In the past, black holes were called stars that cannot be seen! Intriguing, right? Science is no less than a well-thought-out fantasy... With colourful illustrations inside the book, we will read and understand the mysteries of gravity, light as waves and particles, the photoelectric effect, one of the greatest scientific advancements that is electromagnetism, relativity, black holes, wormholes, time travel, concepts like time dilation and much more...We will get a picturesque idea of the world surrounding Newton's gravity to everything explainable and unexplainable in Einstein's reality. Theories that can explain the reality of the universe have surfaced from time to time... but are also replaced by new ideas. First, everyone thought, the physics demigod Newton had answers to everything. But Newton's laws cannot be applied to all motions and phenomena in the universe. Einstein's understanding is used for things with extreme speed or objects that are extremely large or small. But when Einstein's calculations are applied to small domains like earthly occurrences, Newton's equations are obtained. However weird, physics made sense!
