Overview
After being diagnosed with young onset Parkinson's disease (in his mid-forties), the author, now identified to be retired psychotherapist, Chris L McClish, continued to work the remainder of his work day (after getting the diagnosis from his neurologist), which consisted of counseling his psychotherapy clients in groups and individual sessions. After returning home that evening, the reality of the diagnosis starts to touch him - and he decides to handle the initial emotions by using his computer skills to design a website which would contain a new blog about living with Parkinson's disease. Uncertain if anyone would ever stumble upon the website or blog, he starts a blog entry for what would become a very popular blog, Chris began writing the blog under the pen name of Pdude or Parked Dude. The pages of this book contain a year's worth of blog entries from Chris L McClish or Pdude who is just a guy with Parkinson's disease!. There are 32 chapters - which are blog entries spanning the year: from diagnosis, until the 32nd blog entry (a year later), which was the current blog entry at the time of this writing. In addition, the end of the book contains some bonus material, which includes a reflection, containing his thoughts about the events from the past year. In this book, you will see his optimism (including some humor). Yet, he does not sugar coat the tough times resulting from having the disease. You will travel with him on the journey as he handles challenges, such as: finding himself losing his job, redefining who he is (given some life changes), and you will experience his thoughts (and feelings) about making adjustments, given his limitations. Author Information
The author Pdude or Parked Dude is just a guy with Parkinson's disease. He is former psychotherapist, Chris L McClish, who lost his job in his mid-forties (the description of this event unfolding is contained in his manuscript) as a result of limitations brought about from his disability. He published a blog website under the pen name of Pdude, but revealed his identity after the first year of writing.
