Author Information

"After internships in the editorial offices of 6Mois and XXI, A/R and Zeste, she co-directed the web-documentary J'ai décidé d'être stérile, about the voluntary sterilization of childless women, for the Inrockuptibles magazine. Upon graduation, Hélène worked as a web and print journalist for the photo magazine Fisheye from 2015 to 2017. She worked as a journalist for the lifestyle magazine Mint since its launch in 2014, and she was in charge of Mint's website until September 2019. For a year and a half, she was also head of the “bonnes adresses” section for the Dojo Paris app. She then worked for the À Nous Paris website, of which she became editor-in-chief until the media's dissolution in spring 2020. Hélène also writes for Dim Dam Dom, The Good Life, Glamour Paris, Beaux Arts magazine and Les Inrocks. She was editor-in-chief of the print magazine Milk Décoration from March to October 2021 and is currently editor-in-chief of IDEAT.fr.  Sophia van den Hoek's style can be described as ""simple but feel-good"". Her attraction to natural light, whether it’s a soft golden hour light or a ray of strong sunshine peeking through, allows her to capture the pure and genuine aesthetics of the world around her. She shoots a diverse range of subjects and has a particular love for images that relate to food and travel."
