This book discusses the problems associated with the development of musical art and education, with a focus on two interrelated facets of this. The first is the analysis and evaluation of the complex, and often contradictory, situations which occur in the establishment of new institutions of culture and art. The second aspect is represented by recommendations and advice given to young managers preparing themselves to act in a self-motivated manner in these institutions. Author Information

Alexander Nikolayevich Yakupov is Rector and Professor of the Russian State Special Academy of Arts, a Corresponding Fellow of the Russian Academy of Education, and an honorary member of the Russian Academy of Arts. He graduated from Ufa's State Institute of Arts, Russia, and has served as orchestra conductor and art director of the Opera House of Moscow State Music Conservatory. He is the author of the books Musical Upbringing to Everyone, Musical Communication, and Theoretical Problems of Musical Communication, as well as a number of scientific articles.
