My name is Kezia Burgoyne. I'm from Hawaii, I'm 22, and last year a last minute zoom interview, hastily signed papers, and a sledgehammer hit to my bank account found me in a wild work/travel/study combo across Europe. Half the time, my mind was screaming, ""Is this really happening to me?!?"" But I also found that the world has a lot to teach. I learned that beauty can block out fear, that we are vastly more similar to each other than you may think, and that God is so, so good. The book you are about to read is a collection of poems from that experience. And here's the truth: I'd like to tell you I'm a great poet, and that the next few pages will change your life. I can't guarantee any of that, really. But here's the truth: Life is shorter than we think. I really, really, really want to write a book. And if it's not a great book or even a good one, I can with absolute certainty tell you that it is real. And you reading it make me happier than a triple chocolate chip cookie covered in rainbow sprinkles and buried in french vanilla ice cream: )
