The word origami from Japanese: ori means to fold and kami means paper. Origami is therefore, the Japanese art of folding paper into shapes. It basically involves turning a piece of paper into an object we want. The art of origami has been practiced in Japan since the 17th century. The art of paper folding is incredibly popular among people all over the world. Over the years, origami has evolved into something more than just an art form. The best thing about origami is that we just need a sheet of paper in order to start pursuing this hobby. The only other thing which we would need in order to pursue this hobby of origami is our creativity and some knowledge about the folds. Origami might seem like a complicated art, but once we know about the folds as well as the way in which the paper can be modelled, the sky is the limit. If we have ever spent a lazy weekend making paper airplanes, we already know the fun of playing with origami.
