Elisa Pieri is a Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Manchester, UK, where she has been conducting research on Securing Cities Against Global Pandemics (Simon Fellowship Award, 2016-2019). As an expert commentator, she has frequently contributed to the media and policy debate on the COVID-19 pandemic. Her work focuses on security, governance of radical uncertainty, science and technology studies, and the urban.
