Overview

This magazine is published by Palyul Clear Light, a non-profit organization transcribing and publishing teachings of our masters, focusing primarily on teachings from the Nyingma tradition, and particularly those of the Palyul tradition. We hope, through our publications and our media platform, to give as much information as possible and to clarify any misconceptions that may arise concerning the Vajrayana teachings. In this, our 16th issue, we offer teachings by our late Holiness Penor Rinpoche, HH Khentrul Gyanghkhang Rinpoche, and Khenchen Tsewang Gyatso Rinpoche; a translation of the Commentary on the Tantra of the Twenty-one Homages to Tara by Thupten Shedrup Gyatso; along with calligraphy, photos, Palyul history, and information on the Tibetan language.

Really a book in magazine format, Palyul Clear Light presents genuine Buddhist teachings direct from the mouths of our masters, without any new-age fluff or psycho-babble. We transcribe and publish teachings from the Nyingma, the ""ancient school"" of Tibetan Buddhism, and especially from the Palyul tradition of the Nyingmapa, founded in the 17th century by Kunzang Sherab. The Palyul monastery is one of the six mother monasteries of the Nyingma lineage. Many of the teachings we publish are by our teachers from of the Namdroling Monastery, founded by His Holiness Penor Rinpoche after his flight from Tibet to India in 1959. We are pleased to share these precious teachings with you.

Author Information

Khenchen Tsewang Gyatso Rinpoche is one of the three senior khenpos officiating at the Namdroling Monastery in southwest India. Khen Rinpoche has studied and practiced the profound teachings of Dzogchen (the Great Perfection) under the guidance of several great Dzogchen masters and has received all the major transmissions of the Nyingma tradition from His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche, His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, and His Holiness Penor Rinpoche. He has been authorized by His Holiness Penor Rinpoche to transmit the Palyul lineage and Buddhist teachings and to give personal instructions to his disciples.
