Nathaniel has been reading hands since 1969, after developing an interest in palmistry while studying in South America. Over the years he has read the hands of over 25,000 individuals, including those he has met at a wide variety of corporate events sponsored by Martha Stewart Omnimedia, Time Warner, HBO, American Lawyer Media, Avon, Merrill Lynch, The New York Times Company, Dr. Pepper, Bloomberg, Cravath, Swaine & Moore, The Whitney Museum of American Art, McKinsey & Company, Mail.com, America Online and others. Nathaniel has authored or co-authored numerous books about palmistry, including The Palmistry Workbook (The Aquarian Press, 1982); Sexual Palmistry (The Aquarian Press, 1984, Adams Media, 2002); Palmistry, Career and Self-Fulfillment (with Andrew Fitzherbert, published by The Aquarian Press in 1988); Medical Palmistry (with Eugene Scheimann, M.D., published by The Aquarian Press in 1989); and The Little Giant Encyclopedia of Palmistry (Sterling Publishing, 1999).
