His conversion to the Catholic faith began with the first of seven trips to Medjugorje in 1988. Diagnosed with terminal cancer of the Esophagus in July, 2004 and given 3-4 months to live, he was given a free trip to Medjugorje in March/April 2005 and was completely healed during a visit to the Church of St. Blaise in Dubrovnik. His deep love for the Blessed Mother and desire to make God the Father known is evident throughout his work. Walter is the author of the book 'Gather the Broken Pieces' which details his journey through the faith. He is married to Judith Ann Foriska, who has typed the forthcoming book, Pain Versus Love, the messages given to Peg Haley who was Walter's prayer partner before her death.
