OverviewOne-Act Drama, approx. 25-30 minutes, 1F/1M, some adult language. On her way to hospice care, Sarah James, a cancer patient, is taken by ambulance. Although appearing embittered and defeated, Sarah still has some fight left in her. She finds an unlikely companion in Digger DiGenovese, the paramedic who accompanies her. In this play, the author's first, Sean Alan Morris taps into his experiences as an urban paramedic since 1990. He explores the uneasy boundaries between patient and caregiver; the lines drawn around professionals, clinicians and people, that sometimes separate and isolate rather than insulate and protect. Awarded a full production by the 1997 Northwest Connecticut One-Act Play Festival at the Warner Theatre's Nancy Marine Studio Theatre, Torrington, Connecticut.
