She is passionate about social and action research within communities. She is currently a Research Associate, University of Johannesburg, Department of Tourism and Hospitality, South Africa and an Assistant Professor / Lecturer at Breda University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. Moreover, she has taught sustainable tourism and tourism planning in Germany. Manuela has earnt a degree in Business and Arabic and did her PhD in Cultural Geography at RWTH Aachen University, Germany. Her research was presented at numerous scientific conferences and was published in ranked journals. Her research interests include the impacts of globalisation on communities and their sociocultural environments.
