By 2015, the book Government and Religion: Revival of a Mutual Relationship (second edition in Dutch/9789058504524) was granted the Jhr. Mr. A.F. de Savornin Lohman Award. Sophie van Bijsterveld is professor of religion, law and society at Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. She is a Dutch senator as well. Her other works include inter alia the future of democracy and the rule of law, The Empty Throne: Democracy and the Rule of Law in Transition (2002). An international, English edition is forthcoming.
