Author Information

Marilyn gives you conventional and unconventional ways to work with notrump. Her comprehensive system is forged from standards passed down from two Grand Masters. With slight tweaking and a few modifications, she gives you a convention for every pattern and point count that you will face. There is no duplication. Conventions have been synched for efficiency, pared for simplicity, and explained in terms that you will understand. If you want a total notrump system, try on Namely Notrump. Her treatment of notrump is novel. If you can detect whether an auction makes sense or not, you will become attuned to recognizing when a convention is in play. Of course, Marilyn tells you what sensible is. Ms. Shelton draws from her math background, publishing, study, play, teaching and coaching experience to pull together a four-part series on bridge. Each book builds upon the previous one by giving the student incremental steps to learning advanced bridge systems. She grew up in Huntsville, Alabama, has an undergraduate degree in math from Judson College and a Master's degree in Instructional Materials Development from Northern Illinois University. She worked at Lockheed tracking satellites, and the Boeing Company in publishing, and computing -architecture, program management and text retrieval application design; she has published two novels, two chapbooks and three bridge books.
