Over Hill n' Dale

Overview

In addition to being a wonderful story of two girls facing hardships in their young lives. Their love of horses and dedication to each other draw them closer to their dreams. Beyond that, Over Hill n' Dale is extra special because it was written by Virginia Cresswell when she was a young girl and she kept the book hidden for many years, until she had a daughter of her own who discovered the book when she was a young girl. When she asked her mother why she had never published the book, her response was that she was afraid it would not be embraced by the public. Her mother agreed to give Cynthia a copy of the book, but the original was once again hidden away until after Virginia's death in 2009. At that time, her daughter Cynthia once again, discovered the book and made it her mission to have it published so her mother's dream could be fulfilled and the world could enjoy the story of two horse-crazy girls who share life's adventures together.

Author Information

Cynthia Brewster-Keating is the daughter of Virginia Cresswell. Cynthia learned of her mother's book when she was a young girl. When she asked why the book was never published, her mother confessed she was too afraid to try. After her mother's passing in 2009, Cynthia discovered the lost manuscript while going through her mother's personal papers and made it her mission to see that her mother's dream was completed. The artwork within the book was hand-painted by Virginia more than 40 years ago and has been remastered for the publication of this book to bring it back to life. The story remains true to her mother's vision but has been professionally edited to ensure it honors her well.
