OverviewThe purpose of this book is to introduce acoustic output measurement techniques and to provide an insight into the measurement methods. A detailed presentation of the underlying physics of the measurement methods is presented, and much valuable practical guidance given. The first chapter is a question and answer series developed to answer the questions a clinician might have about acoustic output information. Four of the first five chapters deal with measurement methods. The following chapters deal with the specification and measurement of ultrasonic fields using hydrophones. Dr Preston and his team at the National Physical Laboratory have been closely involved with the development of standards and procedures for the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The National Physical Laboratory is the guardian of physical standards for the UK. The standards and procedures developed for the IEC will be used to assess the performance safety of medical ultrasonic equipment. Full Product DetailsAuthor: Roy C.
