Luís Urbano Afonso (b. 1972)Is Assistant Professor at the Faculdade de Letras of Universidade de Lisboa. Teach courses on Art History Methodology, Iconography, Romanesque Art and Gothic Art. He is a member of the advisory board of Goya. Revista de Arte and has published two books – Convento de S. Francisco de Leiria. Estudo monográfico (2003) and O Ser e o Tempo. As idades do homem no gótico português (2003) – and several articles in different journals, including Mediterranean Studies, South African Journal of Art History, and Mitteilungen der Carl Justi Vereinigung.Vítor Serrão (b. 1952)Is Chair Professor at the Faculdade de Letras of Universidade de Lisboa. Teach courses on Art History Methodology, Iconology, Renaissance, Mannerism and Baroque Art History. He has received several awards, namely Prémio José de Figueiredo/1983 from the Academia Nacional de Belas-Artes, with the book O Maneirismo e o Estatuto Social dos Pintores Portugueses; Prémio Nacional de História da Arte from the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian/1990-1992, with the catalogue Josefa de Óbidos e o Tempo Barroco; and Prémio da Associação Portuguesa de Museologia (APOM) for the best catalogue 1995, with the exhibition catalogue A Pintura Maneirista em Portugal -- arte no tempo de Camões. He is also the author of several books, namely Estudos de Pintura Maneirista e Barroca (1989), Josefa de Óbidos e o tempo barroco (1991), A Pintura Maneirista em Portugal – arte no tempo de Camões (1995), A Cripto-História da Arte. Análise de Obras de Arte Inexistentes (2001), Rouge et Or. Trésors d'Art du Baroque Portugais (2001).
