Overview

It was the height of the women's movement in the 1970's, and the scaling down of the Vietnam War. Shane McGarrett, at seventeen, joined the USAF and became the first woman certified jet engine mechanic at March AFB, if not the whole USAF. Before long, her life suddenly became a series of challenges and compromises as she faced the insurmountable adversity of being a woman in a mans world; the jet engine shop.
