Bob, Veteran: 5 Stars! Outstanding Book. Another of Bill Brown's Must Reads. I am a US Navy Vietnam Veteran and have read Bill Brown's Our Vietnam Wars volumes 1, 2, & 3. All are outstanding books. They tell the personal stories of individual Vets whole life, from their lives before they went into the service, their service, and their lives after they came back. Wallace E. Walker: 5 Stars! What War is Like This is a terrific book that helps veterans and non-veterans alike better understand what war is like. These are true stories told by Vietnam War veterans. They detail what happened in their war and then how their lives developed thereafter. I strongly recommend it. Earl Walker, PhD Rick DeStefanis: 5 Stars! The Truth It is the unvarnished and unembellished Vietnam War experience as told by the men who were there. A native of Chicago, I received a BA from The University of Illinois in History and Russian Area studies, and a Master's in City Planning. I served as a Company Commander in the US Army in Vietnam and became active in local and regional politics. As a Vice President of the real estate subsidiary of a Fortune 500 corporation, I traveled widely in Europe, Russia, China, and the Middle East, locations which have featured in my writing. I play bad golf, have become a dogged runner, and paint passable landscapes in oil and acrylic.
