Overview

This YA book of narrative poetry by Alexandria Mathena is the story of Ann as told from Ann's perspective. Follow her as she handles all of the drama that life throws at her from middle school through high school. Turmoil surrounds her ongoing on-again-off-again relationship with Hunter, a bad boy who turns out to be a bad guy who cheats on her. The poems recount how she felt during this whole period of her life. The book's tone is sad and forgiving, but with a happy ending. The story shows that even with countless bad things in one's life, there is always a reason to stay alive. There will be bad people who cause you to make bad decisions, but eventually you will see that all of these things shape you into an amazing person. You are not alone.
