Ottawa Panhandlers' Union

Overview

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Ottawa Panhandlers' Union is a union for panhandlers formed in Ottawa, Canada in early 2003. It is a shop of the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW), Ottawa-Outaouis General Members Branch. The union purports to fight the systematic oppression which is faced by street people in Ottawa; this includes the homeless, panhandlers, buskers, and people with a fixed income who are part of the street. Andrew Nellis had been the longtime spokesperson for the union, roughly from 2005, but resigned from the position in April 2011. The new spokesperson is Karen Crossman.
