OverviewThe ostrich is called the largest and heaviest bird in the world. It can weigh up to 150 kilograms and height two and a half to three meters. Its maximum running speed can exceed 90 kilometres per hour. Ostrich eats grass, flowers, fruits, seeds, small animals, and remains of animals etc. Ostriches live in herds ranging from 5 to 50. A male can have many females. They usually become reproducible in 2 to 3 years. Their age can be from 40 to 70 years.Ostrich eggs can range from one to two kilogram. It may take up to two hours to fully boil. Their meat is eaten. Bags, belts etc. are made with their skin; feathers are used to make decorative items.
