Paul A. Dieppe, MD, FRCP, is the Professor, Senior Research Fellow at St. Peter's College, University of Oxford and is the Director of MRC HSRC, University of Bristol, UK. An ex-professor of Rheumatology in the University of Bristol, he is a leading opinion leader in osteoarthritis. Professor Dieppe is currently investigating the association between obesity and osteoarthritis. He leads the 'MOBILE', a research programme based at the Department of Social Medicine, University of Bristol, which investigates the physical disability in elderly people. His works focus on assessing the relationship between joint damage and symptoms, provisions of joint replacement, and improved ways to alleviate symptoms. Professor Dieppe's research interests are concerned with patient-professional interactions and placebo response.
