OverviewThis volume is devoted to a rapidly developing branch of the qualitative theory of functional differential equations of neutral type, and is designed to fill a vacuum in the oscillation theory of equations of neutral type. After the introduction, the oscillatory properties of neutral ordinary differential equations of first and second order respectively are investigated. Ordinary differential equations with variable coefficients, with constant co-efficients, with distributed delay and nonlinear equations are considered. In chapter 4 the oscillatory properties of n-th order ordinary differential equations of neutral type are investigated and in chapter 5 systems of neutral type with constant co-efficients are examined. The book concludes with the oscillatory properties of partial differential equations of neutral type and parabolic and hyperbolic equations of neutral type. The book is addressed to a wide audience of specialists such as mathematicians, physicists, engineers and biologists. It can be used as a textbook at the graduate level and as a reference book for several disciplines.
