Author Information

Doctor Godley was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. After medical school at UC Irvine (1969), Internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, and three years in the US Navy, Dr. Godley completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at UC San Francisco and a pediatric orthopaedic surgery fellowship at the University of Hong Kong (1978). For the next ten years he enjoyed practicing orthopaedic surgery in Watsonville, California. In 1989 Dr. Godley joined the Permanente Medical Group, Inc. as a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon at the Kaiser San Jose Medical Center where he remained for the next 29 years. Dr. Godley loved his work, his patients and his colleagues. He retired in 2018. Dr. Godley considered it a great privilege to have been a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon at both the Watsonville Community Hospital and the Kaiser San Jose Medical Center. Currently, Dr. Godley consults part time for California Children's Services as a pediatric orthopaedist. He and his wife Jane love gardening at their home in Watsonville. They enjoy living near the ocean and spending time with family and friends.
