Take your time to build on the emotional moment or spill your heart out frantically for the camera, it's up to you! Each scene will help you work on your range of emotions as an actor, learning how to transition into the emotional objectives between the characters, whether it's a slow build up or it may be a sharp change into the moment of heartache of your on-screen relationships! The scenes average 1-2 minutes of possible screen time, leaving you plenty of room to capture the best 20-40 seconds of footage for your reel. As you may know, agents and casting directors are not keen on spending too much time watching drawn-out scenes for auditions, and quite possibly just that one moment will showcase your skills as an actor for them to want you on their books or film. Be brave, be bold, and let them witness your heart break right in front of them! I have added a blank page on the left of each scene page for you to write notes, stick a piece of paper, or post-it notes there to keep the text page clear, so feel free to rework the scenes and dialog to suit your needs if you want to. There are four scenes each for; 2 x males, 2 x females, and male + female. It's always best to showcase at least 3 scenes on a showreel, comprising of a mix of scene partner genders, showcasing your ability of on-screen relationships! Scenes includes touching on relationships between; brothers, lovers, work colleagues, and adversaries. Agents need to see some electricity between characters, as well as your vulnerable side, even when you're the antagonist, so make sure you always understand the emotional objectives of both the characters and their relationship to each other.
