Overview

"Montagueo's passion for STEM naturally integrates into everything he does, including the creation of the Ocean Bowl series. ""Becoming a change agent for our world starts with our children. The mission is to evangelise, engage and promote literacy, conservation and S.T.E.M. Keeping their attention has become a greater challenge. Engaging them early with artistic S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering and math) activities; I believe we will inspire a greater future for our communities."" Ocean Bowl, Montagueo's second book, is slated for release this holiday season. It will feature Odon, Oria's Right Whale father, and the story of the Ocean Bowl Championship. It all kicks off when a teenage fisherman gives Odon a ball as a gift for saving his life in a really bad storm. Montagueo's first book, Orias' Rippin Adventure, explores the underwater world of an exuberant Snubfin Dolphin, Oria, who's zest for life leads her into a heart-pumping adventure that requires problem-solving and teamwork to survive. Review Copies Available Upon Request. About Roman Sudan Montagueo: With heroes like George Washington Carver, Thomas Edison, Walt Disney and Benjamin Banneker, it's no surprise that Montagueo is a creative innovator. The spark ignited in 2010 to produce material that is educational and entertaining (edutainment). The Ocean Bowl Series combines all his passions into one ball of creative energy. While working at John G. Shedd Oceanarium in Chicago, Montagueo's inspiration came from his two children and the dolphins who trained with their toys."

Awesome read. The illustrations capture me and story held me. My 4th grade children are going to love this book and #edutainment. Ms.Chelsea Joseph - Washington DC Public Schools Ocean Bowl's - Orias Rippin Adventure is an excellent read for children. It's filled with several good messages such as teamwork, dreams and aspirations, etc. I love how diverse the characters are. I see cultures being represented from Americans to Caribbean! I highly recommend this book. It's the first time I am reading about dolphins playing football. The writer did a great job of bringing the story to life. I could see the scenes jumping off the page! I read it to my friend's baby and she stayed quiet (for the first time). I guess that meant she was also impressed. In the words of my 6 year old son Awesome Book! . I fully enjoyed it. Read it and see for yourself. - LaToya Wakefield - International Childrens Author - Irie the Caterpillar - 2017

Author Information

Roman Sudan Montagueo II was born and raised in Chicago Illinois. As an often bored youth, he managed to stay out of trouble by drawing and doodling. A gifted youngster, he maintained fantastic grades, even though he had a lot of trouble focusing in school. Roman's life hasn't always been easy and he believes his struggles have not only made him stronger, but instilled a sense of compassion that drive him to better the world around him one step at a time. Using motivational speeches and books, he hopes to inspire a whole new generation of young people to create change, tackle important issues like climate change, and challenge themselves to be better every day. While consulting at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago he was splashed by a dolphin and this sparked an idea; what if dolphins had their own football league? And the rest is history. Roman knew he wanted to focus on several key areas with his kid-oriented book series: S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, art and math), education and entertainment mixed (edutainment), a diverse cast of characters, addressing the issue of pollution and trash in the oceans, and relatable materials for children of color. He's a proud father, an innovator, and strives to be a driving force behind not only his community, but other communities in need of strong voices and leadership.
