He received the doctorate degree in Industrial Chemistry from Bologna University in 1976 and completed his postdoctoral studies at York University - UK - and the National Research Council of Canada, Ottawa. From March 2014 to May 2016 he was appointed as the Director of the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at the NCSR “Demokritos” in Athens.
