Author Information

Jürgen Seibel is Professor at the University of Würzburg. He performed his PhD thesis under the guidance of Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. Lutz F. Tietze. He moved for a Postdoc to the University of Oxford in the Dyson Perrins Laboratory (Department of Organic Chemistry) and back in Germany he started his independent research at the University of Braunschweig. After his habilitation he moved to Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) and became professor at the University of Würzburg. His present research interests are focused on Bioorganic Chemistry and Chemical Biology including the development of chemical and enzymatic syntheses, biocatalysis, protein engineering, drug delivery and glycosciences. He was awarded with the Jochen-Block prize by the Dechema (Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology) and received the DuPont Young Professor award. Julian Görl and Michael Kraus are PhD students in the the Seibel group.
