He obtained his PhD in Mechanical and Energy Engineering in 2011 from the University of Liège, Belgium. He was a visiting researcher at the Massachusetts Institutes of Technology, Cambridge, USA, the Technical University of Munich, Germany, and at the Solar Turbine Group, NGO, in South Africa, where he continued his research on ORC technology. He has authored more than 40 journal and conference papers, including two book chapters. He is the main inventor of one patent dealing with the dynamic control of waste heat recovery ORC systems. Matthew Orosz is a founder of Solar Turbine Group International, an organization that focuses on the technology transfer and energy access in the developing world, and holds a position as a research scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, USA, where he obtained his PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering in 2012. As a former Peace Corps volunteer, Fulbright Fellow and Echoing Green Fellow, he has worked extensively in sub-Saharan Africa, in partnership with local groups, to develop indigenous capacity for deploying renewable energy technologies based on Organic Rankine Cycle units. He has co-authored a number of peer-reviewed journal articles and holds a US patent on solar conversion technology. Vincent Lemort is professor at the Thermodynamics Laboratory of the University of Liège, Belgium. His research activities are dealing with the modeling, the testing and the optimization of energy systems, including refrigeration, heating and air-conditioning systems as well as small-scale Organic Rankine Cycles. He has authored more than 60 journal and conference papers. He has a strong background in collaborating with industry and many international research projects.
