A publication made in 2012 by the American Academy of Pediatrics recommended waiting till your baby was 6 months to add solids to their diet. Some people, however, choose to start at 4 months, and for this reason, we have included some incredible puree recipes that are healthy and great for a 4-month-old. However, it is pretty important to ensure that your baby can sit upright and hold their head up before introducing solid foods. Also, be sure to get an okay from the pediatrician before you do it. Keep the following things in mind, though. For new baby eaters, just give 1 or 2 tbsps. of food in the beginning and keep these portions very small. Always be on the lookout for any allergies, especially if your baby is feeding on foods containing allergens such as wheat, peanut, eggs, fish, soy, or shellfish.
