Then, in 1994 he obtained a J.D. degree at Thomas M. Cooley Law School, which is now part of Western Michigan University. As of 2022, Gantt resides in Oakwood, United States, with his wife. He has two adult children.Gantt started his career in 1989 as the district office manager for the Dayton Region of the United States Department of Commerce. After attending law school, he began his legal career in January 1995. During his career he has served the Montgomery County Juvenile Courts as an acting magistrate and as an acting judge at Oakwood Municipal Court in since 2003.Gantt was appointed as a commissioner to the Ohio Legal Rights Services Commission in 2005. He has been representing clients in state and federal courts, and represented clients with business negotiations and transactions and for other matters such as estate planning, probate, criminal defense, and civil litigation.In 2011, Gantt was appointed as special counsel to the Ohio Attorney General. Since 2012, he has been serving as the Chairman of Ohio Unemployment Compensation Review Commission. Gantt authored and released the book Order in The Court in 2023. In addition, Gantt served on the Montgomery Board of Elections for over a decade, interacting with Ohio election law, Secretary of State Directives and Advisory Opinions, and high-profile election law cases.
