Overview

Published in December 2020 with the permission of the superior of The Oratory of Saint Philip Neri at Cardiff, the Oratorium gives the order for the celebration of the daily Oratory prayers and devotions which are the heart of St. Philip Neri's spirituality. These simple yet profound prayers are drawn from the wellsprings of the Church's perennial tradition. In addition to the Oratorian spiritual exercises for each day of the week, the Oratorium contains: - Marian chants and antiphons, with their versicles & prayers (including Gregorian chant notation): Sub tuum prsidium (Under thy protection); Alma Redemptoris Mater; Ave Regina Clorum; Regina Cli; & Salve Regina; - The Prayer of Venerable Csar Baronius to St. Philip Neri, together with a beautiful lithograph of the Saint venerating the Crucifix of our Lord - Litany of the Saints of Wales - Order for the Clothing of a Novice of the Congregation - Order for the Chapter of Faults - The Te Deum Laudamus with chant notation The book is available for the first time in paperback, with black and red ink. A perfect gift for Brothers of the Little Oratory throughout the world; useful for Oratorian communities in formation. Approx. 60 pages. Paperback.

Author Information

The Fathers and Brothers of the Oratory of Saint Philip Neri in Formation at Cardiff are members of a Roman Catholic society of apostolic life. Following the way of the Sixteenth Century priest, St. Philip Neri, they are dedicated to Prayer, the Word of God, and the Sacraments - especially the worthy celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the Sacrament of Confession. The Oratorians have the care of souls in the Parish of St. Alban-on-the-Moors, Swinton Street, entrusted to them by His Grace, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Cardiff. They also serve the pupils and teachers of St. Alban's Primary School, Mona Place, and the Sisters and residents of Nazareth House, Cathays.
