His band was called The Ramrods at first then a group with the same name surfaced with a hit song called Ghost Riders in the Sky, so Bob's group became The Ramrods Four. After Bob left the group it became The Rockin' Ramrods and was based in Cambridge MA around the Harvard Square area. After several personnel changes according to an article in the Boston Phoenix newspaper the band evolved into the nationally known Group Sha Na Na.
