Diya Baker is an Ophthalmology registrar at East Kent NHS Foundation Trust. Over the past five years, he has actively mentored junior colleagues, supporting their academic development and preparation for Royal College of Ophthalmology exams. He has collaborated with foundation doctors on teaching sessions, quality improvement projects, presentations, and research publications. Diya recently completed a Postgraduate Master’s in Clinical Medicine at Homerton College, University of Cambridge. He is committed to clinical education, regularly participating in national and international teaching seminars and guiding peers through the ophthalmology specialty application process. Joe Abbott FRCOphth is a Consultant Paediatric Ophthalmic Surgeon and Glaucoma Lead at Birmingham Children’s Hospital since 2012. A Nottingham Medical School graduate, he trained in the West Midlands and completed fellowships at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Moorfields Eye Hospital, and Great Ormond Street Hospital. Niha Hussain is a junior doctor with interests in ophthalmology, radiology, and primary care. She is currently in the specialised foundation programme in Leicestershire, undertaking a research block focused on improving ophthalmic diagnostic techniques. With 10 peer-reviewed publications, she earned her university’s Distinction in Research award.
