Overview

What happens when the quiet days feel too empty-and the new arrival shakes everything up? Archie loves his cozy life with Clancy, but when school starts again, the house feels too quiet. His noisy attempts to fill the silence bring a surprising solution: Opal, a striking red parrot who turns Archie's world upside down. At first, they clash-Archie's cheeky antics meet Opal's sharp squawks, and jealousy flutters in the air. But as Archie gets to know Opal, he discovers there's more to her than meets the eye. Can two very different parrots find common ground and become friends? Join Archie and Opal in this heartfelt sequel about change, connection, and the unexpected joys of new friendships.

Author Information

Renee Conoulty is an Aussie author, narrator and independent publisher. In the mornings, she wrangles her two kids off to school (who are also Aussie authors and narrators). During the day, she supports children with disabilities to learn and helps run the school library. During the evening, she enjoys a rare quiet moment watching TV with her husband, amid the chirping of the budgies, yowling of the cat, barking of the dog and scratching of the rats and mice. Thank goodness the fish are quiet. Somewhere in between all these distractions, she writes sweet romance, women's fiction, beginner chapter books and picture books.
