Reviews

More than mere ""schools,"" Japanese ryu are traditions flowing from one generation to the next, kept alive through their teachings as well as through their tangible heirlooms, the objects that past masters created or used to temper themselves and teach their descendants. In this volume, the 18th headmaster of the Ono-ha Itto-ryu swordsmanship tradition, Yuji Yabuki, presents for the first time to the broader public, swords and documents from a collection built through his tradition's 400-year history and at the same time expounds on some of its fundamental principles. A unique work that will enrich any Japanese martial arts' library! Grigoris Miliaresis, martial arts' writer Hiden magazine
