His books range from movie adaptations to nonfiction about sports and animals, and even a book for teachers. James is best known for his mystery series Jigsaw Jones, as well as the wilderness survival novel Blood Mountain (Feiwel & Friends, 2019). He is the author of Only in Washington, D.C. (Wide Eyed Editions, 2025). He still cares – deeply, foolishly – about the score of professional baseball games. Sonya Abby is an illustrator and visual development artist based in San Francisco. Originally from Jakarta, Indonesia, she graduated from the Academy of Art University. Sonya’s interest in children’s book illustration stems from her love of bright and vibrant colours, as well as the various whimsical fantasies she grew up reading. Sonya has been recognized in her school’s Illustration Spring Show for two consecutive years, and was also a finalist in the 2017 Society of Illustrators' Student Scholarship Competition. In her free time, Sonya enjoys exploring San Francisco to draw inspiration from its unique and diverse neighborhoods, as well as finding new and cute cafés to work in.
