OverviewAfter a decade working in conventional, large-scale agriculture, as an agronomist and environmental regulator, I had enough. I couldn't pretend any longer. All my experiences leading up to this point had provided me with first-hand evidence of the negative consequences to raising animals within the large-scale food production system. I disagreed with so much in this industry, and I wasn't honoring my true self by continuing to play the game. My intuition was telling me to leave and promote a system that enhanced the lives of animals, human health, and the environment. I needed to turn my true passion, my long-time hobby at home, into an example for the world to see how our food system can be healed. This book is my avenue for sharing the benefits to raising animals at a small scale, where an intimate connection can be created between meat animal and human. Within this book, I provide examples of my personal experiences within factory farms, and how they have led me to understand the importance of raising animals with love. I outline the simple model I use in raising animals according to their own natural needs. You will learn how to move through the death of your meat animals, and as a result, create depth within yourself for more love. I share personal examples from my own life that have brought me to know my true self and align with my own internal wisdom--the guidance that is present within all of us. This book is not intended to be an instructional manual for raising animals. You may learn quite a few things about raising animals as you read, however, the purpose within these pages is to allow you to open your mind and uncover your fullest potential as a human being. This book is meant to inspire you to trust in yourself and confidently bring your own passion out into the world. Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationStacy Martin is the creator of MooPoo Ranch in Junction City, Wisconsin, where she lives with her husband and their two children. She has spent the past decade raising beef cattle, pigs, chickens, and other animals for food. Her primary focus is on raising animals with love, and nature is used as the production model as the animals rotationally graze throughout the pasture. Stacy has a Bachelor of Science degree in soil and land management from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. She worked within the conventional, large-scale agricultural industry for a decade as an agronomist and environmental regulator of Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFO's) in the state of Wisconsin. After leaving the conventional agricultural world on Earth Day in 2016, she decided to combine her interests in rotational grazing, raising animals for food, ecosystem management, and personal development into entrepreneurship. Stacy's main focus now is promoting small-scale food production, as it relates to raising animals in alignment with oneself and nature. Her intention is to inspire more people to begin raising their own animals for food and assist them in gaining a deeper connection to life.
