OverviewAlan was admitted to three different hospitals fourteen times for the same diagnosis, in a period of two months. My observation in these two months was that technology has changed the health industry and has taken away that one-on-one relationship between a doctor and the patient. There was a time not too many years ago that doctors made house calls. Now, if you're hospitalized, your doctor doesn't make rounds each day but instead has a hospitalist doing rounds, and that hospitalist is different each day. Computers have kept the nurse or doctor busy entering data into it. Data is important to record, but so is a personal relationship from your health-care professionals.
