One Summers Day: Coming after Jessie was a terrible mistake...

Overview

This immersive and powerful story continues the saga of the Summers Chronicle. John Summers is now an old man. He spends his time basking in the blessings that his long and ferociously determined life has allowed him to accumulate. He is, however, still affected by the actions of his two most extraordinary acquaintances, Jessie MacIntyre and Graham Richard Longley. Jessie MacIntyre, married to John's grandson, Thomas, is distraught at repeated attempts on her life. Pushed to the brink, she visits a shocking vengeance on her tormentors, an episode that has far-reaching repercussions. Graham Longley becomes more deeply intertwined in Jessie's complex life. Graham also has to come to terms with the totally unexpected achievements of his daughter, Sally - far-reaching outcomes that ripple out to involve Jessie MacIntyre.

Author Information

Phillip Rosewarne has lived and worked in various places on the east coast of Australia, his first job being for a shipping company. After working in New Guinea, Phillip was a project clerk for the Australian Government in Canberra and the Northern Territory, where he worked in Darwin and Katherine, initially for the Commonwealth Department of Works, and then for three years as head storeman for Woolworths in the Darwin area, two years either side of Cyclone Tracy. Phillip then bought a cattle property in Queensland, which he operated for four years. After returning to Canberra, he initially worked at Mount Stromlo Observatory as a groundsman. It was here that he obtained a Certificate of Horticulture from the Tafe College. He then spent the next twenty-five years at the Commonwealth Department of Primary Industries as it was then known. During this time, he worked in a science bureau within several primary industry sections and gained an Applied Science Degree from the University of Canberra.Phillip always had a desire to write novels as opposed to scientific papers. He began writing after leaving school, and the passion to write never left him. It was only later in life that he had the opportunity to write fiction on a more permanent basis. Phillip is currently retired and lives on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.
