Overview

Some say about me, ""That's one of them.""I move, look, or act in a different way.I'm not like all the other kids, I simply wasn't made the same.I am one of them.In the second installment of her series, Be Kind: Understanding Disability, author Debbie Oelke once again opens up the world of the disabled to young readers. After thoughtful interviews with families whose children live with a variety of impairments, Debbie has crafted another engaging lesson in kindness for all ages. Hannah Kliewer's playful illustrations serve as the perfect backdrop as each child is spotlighted with age-appropriate descriptions of their condition, struggles, and the gifts they bring the world. Through these informative and heartfelt stories, readers will gain a deeper understanding of ""them,"" and just may learn that they are not so different from ""us.""
