One More Day

Overview

Journey Through Shadows: Love, Loss, and Spiritual Hope in Alzheimer's. This collection of heartfelt poems captures the emotional landscape of caregiving, reflecting on love, loss, and the mystical connections found in everyday moments. In this poignant continuation of his poetic journey, Michael delves deeper into the complexities of his wife Diane's battle with Alzheimer's in One More Day. Each poem serves as a testament to the profound love a husband holds for his wife, exploring themes such as the grief of losing friends, the unpredictable emotions that arise during visits, and the serendipitous moments that seem to guide his path. Michael's reflections transform ordinary experiences at Diane's memory care facility into powerful verses, revealing the hidden significance behind each encounter. The poems pay tribute not only to Diane but also to the other residents and the dedicated caregivers navigating this challenging journey alongside their loved ones. Through his writing, Michael shares an intimate confession of his emotions, regrets, and the fleeting joys that punctuate their lives together. The verses in One More Day resonate with the intensity of a heart grappling with the reality of a loved one's decline. Michael's journey into poetry began unexpectedly, sparked by dreams and coincidences that compelled him to express his feelings in verse. This collection is not just a reflection of his experiences but also an exploration of the mystical connections that emerge in the face of adversity. As he navigates the complexities of love and loss, Michael invites readers to join him in finding hope and meaning amid the shadows of Alzheimer's.
