Overview

If you understand the meaning of the phrase 'One Down, Four Up', this book has been written with you in mind. If you don't understand the title, this book offers the reader a great learning opportunity to understand the people who ride or just enjoy motorcycles. Nigel's love of motorcycles has been with him since he was able to keep a couple of rotating wheels between his legs and grab some handlebars. His early pushbike experience naturally progressed to mopeds and then onto larger and different types of motorcycles. Nigel explains his choice of bikes, some of the technical and historical details of the models and brands, and the adventures he has had by riding motorcycles on the three continents he has lived.

"""What really struck me from the book was the resilience of a man that has been badly bitten by his obsession that so many of us share. To go through what he has, but come through with the same appetite, sense of humour and positive mental attitude to live life to the full is really quite inspirational. To get that across in a book shows great skill from Nige as a writer"". Phil B. (Amazon Jun 8th 2019) ""If you're into motorbikes of all kinds this is a must read. There is a ton of useful information while at the same time giving an insight into a passion for ""the ride"". There is a lot you can learn from this book, while at the same time read a tale of many of the ups and downs of a riding fanatic"" - Stephen W. (Amazon May 8th 2019)."

Born a Welshman, Nigel grew up in the coal mining valleys of South Wales, in the United Kingdom during the 1960s and 70s. An avid motorcyclist, musician and aviation professional, Nigel joined the Royal Air Force (RAF) at age 16 and served for twenty-seven years as an Aero Systems Engineer. In 2004 Nigel retired for the first time and emigrated with his family to the other side of the world to join the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF). A citizen of both the United Kingdom and New Zealand, Nigel hopes to add the USA to his list of citizenship countries by 2022
