Agent Phi, Delta is sent to Colombia on a joint mission with a loose cannon from the OCF's Moscow Bureau. Apparently, Coonan's orders are to eliminate a ""ghost from the past"" and neutralize the threat said ""ghost"" poses by opening a Weapons of Mass Destruction bazaar in the jungles of South America, with an eye to supplying Communist guerrillas in Colombia and a certain Muslim terror group preparing to launch its own brand of Jihad against Uncle Sam. But in a murky world, where nothing is what it seems, Agent Delta soon will learn that sometimes one must pact with the devil to avoid a greater evil. A SOBERING, FAST-PACED THRILLER IN THE STYLE OF IAN FLEMING'S 007 AND DONALD HAMILTON'S MATT HELM."

Reviews

"Agent Delta craves nothing more than to enjoy a rare vacation away from his dangerous trade, but his bubble of bliss is burst when Agent Phi, his lethal and beautiful partner, informs him that their boss has summoned both of them to Cali, Colombia. Yuri Pavenko, a former KGB nuclear saboteur once thought dead, has resurrected and is smuggling weapons on the black market. Fifteen years ago, Delta thought he had killed Yuri, but now, a bit past forty, he is sent to finish the job. However, things are infinitely more complex that they seem because the Miami sub-division Coonan works for has to collaborate with other branches and agencies, which will not take a second to betray them. The author's descriptive narrative engages with the perfect balance between telling and showing. This technique creates vivid imagery and brings to life a complex geopolitical situation. The plot unfolds smoothly, following the three-act structure to create suspense and tension that forces the readers to keep turning pages to get through the foreboding and constant dangers in this character-driven tale. Despite the stranded circumstances, Agent Delta's decisions move the plot along at a dizzying pace. Because much of the story takes place during major world events such as the Cold War, the facts are skillfully blended into the fiction and fits seamlessly into the timeline. Finally, we recommend this book to people who like action-adventure novels. Fans of Ian Fleming's James Bond will certainly appreciate this novel. Considering all the above arguments, 3 stars for ""One Deadly Souk"". THE ONLINE BOOK CLUB"
