OverviewThis is a story of heartbreak, regret and ultimate restoration. In her teens, Susan Bridgette experienced a sequence of events that ended in her making the worst decision of her life. Feeling trapped with no-where to turn she underwent an abortion, which impacted her in ways she could never have imagined. For forty years she carried her painful secret, with guilt and grief etched deep within her heart. Throughout the author’s journey, she shares how at times she felt like God had turned His back on her and was punishing her. She also questioned whether the world would be better off without her and if God could ever forgive her for the sins of her youth. Susan shows courage and vulnerability as she shares her personal journey, describing how God, in His faithfulness, answered her desperate cries for help. These encounters brought healing where she was finally able to let go and forgive herself for her past. This powerful story brings a message of hope, that no matter how great or small our mistakes are, God is a God of Unconditional Love. He is waiting to forgive, heal and restore. She tells how a painful mistake which she made in her teenage years shattered her life and changed it forever. Because of that one decision, she lived most of her adult life with an unbearable burden of pain, regret and despair. For years, she buried her secret deep within her heart, thinking no-one had to know... but God had other ideas. In this book, Sue tells the remarkable story of how she was set free from shame and guilt and came to experience God's life-changing love, power and grace. With wisdom and sensitivity, she invites the reader to lay down past mistakes and receive God's forgiveness, mercy and love. Her testimony is that No mistake is so big, that God's love is not bigger still. If you or a loved one are carrying crippling burdens of the past, I know that Sue's journey of God's power to heal and restore your life can be yours too. Glenys Taylor It has been my joy and privilege to work with Susan on the first part of her book. In those early days of writing, Susan was unsure of how the book would be titled. Her story is both down to earth and utterly truthful and yet full of the healing presence of God. There were times I found myself weeping as I read her story and felt the emotion of her heart. The chapter describing Susan's encounter with Jesus especially brought me, not just to tears, but to a sobbing worship of the Saviour who showed her such a depth of intimate love, kindness mercy and restoration of hope. As you read Susan's story, now wonderfully tilted One Day in Heaven, I know you too will encounter the same Saviour who longs to heal and restore you. Karen Wilson 2017 Karen has written and assisted in the writing of several books. Her first book Pages of Grace' is her story of finding faith to believe for children. Karen.wilson@stairway.org.au When Susan told, me she was writing a book, little did I know she would be revealing such a well-guarded secret. A secret that was so profound she had carried it for nearly 40 years. That she would be brave enough to bring it to light after all this time, and offer such an open account of her life around this time is amazing. To see how God has kept her, guided and healed her through it has lifted my faith. I can't wait to see the healing impact that reading this story will have on other women who may have similar stories, and who thought they were alone. Karen Sim I love this book!
