Author Information

Diane Mandt Langberg, PhD, is globally recognized for her forty-five years of clinical work with trauma victims. She has trained caregivers on six continents in responding to trauma and to the abuse of power. She directs her own counseling practice, is the author of numerous books, and is coleader of the Global Trauma Recovery Institute housed at Biblical Theological Seminary. She serves on the board of GRACE (Godly Response to Abuse in the Christian Environment) and as cochair for the American Bible Society's Trauma Advisory Council. She and her husband have two sons and four grandchildren. Diane Langberg, PhD, is a world-recognized authority on sex-trafficking and violence against women, setting up training programs to assist Rwandans and many others around the world in working with victims of trauma. She directs her own Christian counseling practice, employing about fifteen other counselors, and was cofounder of The Place of Refuge, an inner city nonprofit in Philadelphia that works with the traumatized. Among Dr. Langberg's books are Counsel for Pastors' Wives, On the Threshold of Hope, and Counseling Survivors of Sexual Abuse. She has also written an article for the book Reformed Means Missional, which has also been released as a minibook entitled Bringing Christ to Abused Women. Nan McNamara has performed on stage, television, film, and behind the microphone in voice-overs for over twenty years. Her passion is to tell good stories--no matter what the medium. Originally from St. Paul, Nan received a BA cum laude in theater.
